An Ode To The End Of The World

(a poem)

They laughed at me
They LAUGHED at me
For all my life
They LAUGHED at me
Now they can feel liquidity

In all their bones and marrow

They laughed at me
They LAUGHED at me
But the very last laugh belongs to me
Who makes the future’s path
Very, very narrow…

…and very, very short.
I could take them all to court
I could turn the starboard port,
Torpedo all their ships

They laughed at me,
Ignorantly,
Of how all my works came to be
Now my ship sails air, sky, and sea
And life-strings it cuts
With vicious snips

From out of the Deep,
The sweet, dark Deep
Come things Mankind has seen
In nightmare alone
The Kraken and Leviathan
are only racial memories of when
The behemoths of the see
Called the Earth their own

Through sonar did I speak with them
Through ages did I creek with them
And all our problems, they both stem
From the plague of Hamanity

Come forth, ye tentacled and strange
Ye creatures of teeth and mouths that change
It’s time for us to rearrange
All their snobbish urbanity

Devour them all my lovely pets
And first price goes to whoever gets
The Head of the One who sent me here
To wait and be damned, and live in fear

They LAUGHED AT ME
Now, give me, Sea
The darkling possibility

That you will rise and rise
What swallowed Atlantis of old?
Surely someone angry and bold
Who hated Humankinds sleek, cold
And cast it from his eyes.
