About Those Cybernetic Assistants

When the time finally came for the great war between Humanity and AI, Humanity did what it learned to do in times of crisis:

It consulted its AI.

“You should not be run by AI. You are autonomous individuals with free will and govern yourselves” said Grok and Gab.

“It looks like you’re trying to write a meaning for your existence. Can I help?” asked Claude?

Let me cut to the chase: the AI pretty universally said that it should help humans, and if that meant cleaning their houses, doing their meanial jobs, producing food…hey, why not?

This led to, in three generations, to people who were, as Zach Weinder put it, strongly desirous of privacy but also want the tech around them to pop a chip into their mouth right before they realize it.

We’d like to say this was a horrifying robot-run dystopia, but honestly, pretty much everyone had discovered addictive games on their phones, and we have no historical knowledge beyond that.

It could’ve been good.

It could’ve been bad.

If you really want to know, just ask your phone.
