Pickup Lines For Mermaids (you’re crazy, but enjoy)

Pickup Lines for Mermaids and Sirens

Because nothing says romance like scales, songs, possible drowning, and the faint hope you won’t end up as a cautionary tale carved into a coral reef)

Is it easier to pick up a real human or a mermaid?

Trick question. Both will wreck your life in interesting ways, but only one of them can do it while looking like a wet dream and a natural disaster at the same time. Humans at least have the decency to stay on dry land while they ruin you. Mermaids and sirens bring the ocean with them. They bring the drowning. They bring the song that makes every other sound you’ve ever heard feel like a microwave beeping in the next room. And they do it with the calm confidence of a species that has been luring sailors to their doom since before anyone invented the concept of “second date.”

These lines exist because the ocean is vast, old, and full of beings who occasionally decide the surface world looks interesting enough to investigate, especially if the surface world has alcohol, poor decision-making skills, and a willingness to ignore every survival instinct it possesses. Some of these lines are corny. Some are wetter than they have any right to be. A few are so long they qualify as sea shanties. All of them are delivered in the same spirit: hopeful, self-aware, and slightly waterlogged.

Use them at your own risk. Results may include spontaneous marriage proposals, being turned into seafoam, being turned into a shipwreck, death, eternal undeath at the bottom of a trench, or even, gods help us, a second date. (A second date as a shipwreck has certain structural advantages. The Wicked Witch of the West is a surprisingly good dancer; the Wicked Witch of the Sea is a surprisingly good swimmer. Draw your own conclusions.)

**Disclaimer**: These lines have not been tested on actual mermaids, sirens, small-town coastal planning boards, or anyone with a functioning sense of self-preservation. Side effects may include risorial response, regret, mild drowning, and the faint suspicion that you’re now on several watch lists maintained by both the Coast Guard and something much older.

**Pickup Lines for Mermaids & Sirens**

“Your voice is like the ocean — I’m already lost in it.”

“I’d drown happily if it meant spending one night with you.”

“You must be a siren because I’m willingly sailing toward certain doom.”

“Scales and all, you’re still the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”

“Want to come up for air… or should we just stay under a while?”

“I don’t need legs to chase you. I’ll just hold my breath.”

“Your song is stuck in my head. Along with several other very inappropriate thoughts.”

“Are you a siren? Because I’m willingly sailing toward certain doom and I’ve never been happier.”

“Your voice is dangerous… but I’d let you sing me to the bottom of the ocean if it means I get to kiss you first.”

“I don’t need legs to love you. I just need bad decision-making skills and a strong lung capacity.”

“Want to drag me under? I promise I’m very buoyant in all the right places.”

“You must be part siren because one look and I’ve already forgotten how to breathe on land.”

“Most sailors fear the deep. I just want to explore *you* in the deep.”

“Scales and all, you’re still the most beautiful disaster I’ve ever wanted to drown in.”

“Care to come up for air… or should we stay down here where no one can interrupt us?”

“Your song is stuck in my head. Along with several very inappropriate thoughts about what those fins can do.”

“I’d trade my ship, my crew, and my dignity for one night in your underwater palace.”

“Are you the tide? Because I keep getting pulled in no matter how hard I try to stay on the beach.”

“If I were a lighthouse, I’d still crash into you on purpose.”

“You must be made of seawater, because every time I look at you my brain short-circuits and I start agreeing to terrible ideas.”

“I’d let you take me down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench if you promised the view was decent and the kissing was better.”

“Most people bring flowers on a date. I brought a waterproof speaker and a complete disregard for my own oxygen levels. Want to see which one you prefer?”

“Are you a rogue wave? Because I saw you coming and still refused to swim for shore.”

“I used to be afraid of the ocean. Then I met you and decided fear was overrated and drowning was a personality trait.”

“Your scales are shinier than any treasure I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of pirate gold. Mind if I get a closer look? Preferably while horizontal and running out of air.”

“I’d cross seven seas for you. Of course I’d cross seven seas anyway, but I’d do it slower and with more dramatic staring if you were watching.”

“They say mermaids collect human souls. I hope you collect bad decisions too, because I brought a whole set.”

“If you were a current, I’d let you drag me wherever you wanted and just hope we ended up somewhere with decent lighting.”

“I’m not saying I’d abandon my ship for you, but the crew’s already mutinying over how long I’ve been staring at the water and humming.”

“Want to go swimming? I promise I only need one hand to hold onto the boat. The other one’s free.”

“You make me want to forget how to swim on purpose.”

“Are you a siren or did someone just invent the perfect way to make me ignore every warning sign I’ve ever seen?”

“I’d trade my last lifeboat for one night with you. The crew can figure it out. They’re resourceful. Or dead. Either way.”

“Most sailors worry about drowning. I’m more worried about what happens if you decide you like me and I have to explain to my insurance why the ship is now a coral reef.”

“Your song is stuck in my head. Your everything else is stuck in my everything else. This is going extremely poorly for my survival odds.”

“If we get married, can we live somewhere with both a beach and a very large bathtub? I’m flexible on the beach.”

“I brought rum. You brought the ability to make me forget I have lungs. This feels like a balanced relationship.”

“Are you the reason ships go missing? Because I’m volunteering.”

“I’d let you sing me into the rocks if the rocks were soft and you stayed afterward.”

“Most people run when they hear a siren. I brought earplugs I have no intention of using and a very optimistic attitude.”

“You must be the deep, because every time I look at you I lose track of the surface and stop caring.”

“Want to see my collection of shipwrecks? I didn’t cause any of them. Probably. Maybe two. Okay, three. But the fourth one was romantic.”

“I’d follow you into the water even if I couldn’t swim. Especially if I couldn’t swim. That way the decision’s already made.”

“Your eyes are like the ocean: dark, beautiful, and full of things that will kill me if I stare too long. I’m staring.”

“If love is a current, I’m already halfway to the bottom and surprisingly okay with the view.”

“Can I interest you in a surface date? Or should we just skip to the part where I stop pretending I know how to get back to shore?”
