Oh, Cats are my inspiration,
My onliest begetter
Eternal inspiration
Because THEY KNOW BETTER.
Could they slay us in our sleep?
Nothing could be easier
But then they’d have to feed themselves
And life would be un-breezier.
Are they tools of daemonic things?
Monsters from the Pit?
That’s vaguely frightening, but really, not
As scary as kitten spit.
But they know that, should they breath flame
They won’t get treats, or hear their name.
My cat is smarter than those who’ve not met her:
Because she’s careful and SHE KNOWS BETTERS.
The airplane’s going down
My cat might be sadistic
Or merely practical;
He’s got the last parachute
And gravity’s got pull.
