I Appreciate You

Author’s note: I have been going through some rough times. This would USUALLY be a short story with some attempt at a twist or something else that would make it fiction. Before you invest your energy in reading it, please know: this time, it’s simple a sincere thanks. If that’s not of interest, just skip through to the archives!

I appreciate you.

I appreciate your time. I appreciate that you’re seeing this. I appreciate that you look. I appreciate that you’re reading it. If I have not conveyed this: I appreciate the hell out of those things. And they are just a start.

I thank you. I’ve been doing this for several years, and I do it for you and because of you. I don’t know who most of you are. I wish I did. But I’m very, very glad you are there.

There’s probably something weird or strange about you. If you’re here, that’s likely. And there’s rather a lot that’s weird and strange about me. So I truly appreciate having my work read by my own kind.

I’ve wanted to write pretty much all my life. This is my change to do so. I don’t think I have words for how much it means to me. Which is good, because I doubt I could put a price on it. Not priceless, better, peerless. Beyond price.

If I had a magic sword, and you were a hero, I wouldn’t strike you down; I’d let you trash my lair if it’s what would make you really happy.

Because you make me really happy.

And because I need a new lair anyway.
