Goldman wanted a bagel
A fancy bagel, a garlic bagel
One with lox.
Goldman wanted a bagel
He passed the guantlet
of blueberry bagels, chocolate bagels
the temptation of lobster bagels
(“the crawling, swarming things of the Earth, though shalt not eat)
He could get a bagel anywhere, but it wouldn’t be a ‘bagel’ – it would be a ball of dough.
Goldman did not know this, but this as the end of Stonehenge.
Of the Sumerians.
Of Atlantis.
Not that they lost the technology to create wonders
but they lost they tech to create wonders
in favor of creating things which LOOKED very similar.
A lobster bagel is a great idea.
It sure doesn’t work, though.
A nice salty bagel schmir’d with cream cheese?
That’s what you need.
But you’ll never find it again, Goldman.
Your local bagel store has gone out of business and its time for you to turn evil.
Sorry.
